Looking at Wonders into Truth: The Architectural Art and Legacy of Yongle Palace

The exhibition focuses on the architecture and art of Yongle Palace (founded in 1247), the largest and best-preserved Yuan-era Taoist monastery in China. A total of 125 (sets of cultural relics and collection items) and 48 auxiliary exhibits are presented. Among them, 9 items are first-level national treasures. The exhibition is divided into three thematic blocks: "煌煌巨制" (Majestic Creation): Describes the history of the construction of Yongle Palace, its architectural features and decoration. Key exhibits include a brick inscribed with the completion of Sanqing Hall, as well as a majestic glazed ceramic roof ridge, considered a masterpiece of Yuan era glaze art. "遗珍重光" (Revived Heritage): Dedicated to the unprecedented operation of moving the entire palace complex 20 km in 1959-1965 due to the construction of a reservoir. Unique archival documents of that era are presented here. "巧凝造化" (Excellent Craftsmanship): Introduces the murals and sculptures of Yongle Palace.
