Fans of Empress Maria Fedorovna. 1860s–1910s.

The exhibition features a collection of fans that belonged to Empress Maria Feodorovna, wife of Emperor Alexander III, and are considered the best examples of fan art. The exposition includes foreign-made fans as well as those created in Russia. Since fans sometimes served as documents reflecting important events in human life, the exhibition highlights types such as wedding and souvenir fans. A separate group is dedicated to a set of diplomatic gifts—fans from the period of Franco-Russian friendly visits in 1891–1893.
