India. Fabric of time
Textile exhibits tell what connects Indian weaving with world fashion or, for example, Ivanovo red chintz with ready-to-wear. The seven halls of the exhibition are dedicated to the history of cotton, silk, wool, as well as embroidery, dyeing, ornaments and, of course, saris. The curators tried to find out how Indian textiles influenced world fashion and how traditional patterns, symbols and codes were interpreted in the popular culture of the 20th and 21st centuries.
