Mineralogical Museum named after. A.E. Fersman RAS
The largest academic mineralogical museum in Russia, storing more than 150 thousand exhibits. In 2026, the Mineralogical Museum named after A.E. Fersman RAS turns 310 years old. The museum was founded in 1716 in St. Petersburg as the Mineral Cabinet of the Kunstkamera by order of Peter I. In 1725 it came under the jurisdiction of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1934, together with the academy, the museum moved to Moscow. About 14 thousand exhibits are presented at the expositions available for visiting.
