Kuskovo Estate Museum

a unique monument of Russian estate culture of the 18th century, located in the eastern part of Moscow. The complex, which belonged to the Sheremetev counts, was formed in the 1750s–1770s. and is an example of a country residence of the Baroque and early Classicism eras. The architectural ensemble includes: The Palace (1769–1775) is a central building in the classicist style with Baroque elements, richly decorated and preserving its historical decoration; Church of the All-Merciful Savior (1737–1739) - an early element of the estate in the traditions of the Naryshkin Baroque; Italian and Dutch houses - pavilions reflecting the fashion for “overseas” styles; an extensive regular park with canals, ponds and sculpture. The museum, opened in 1919, houses collections of paintings, decorative arts, furniture and porcelain from the 18th century. “Kuskovo” serves as an important object for the study of Russian noble culture and landscape gardening art.
