Museum complex "Kremlin"
The oldest part of Suzdal (Vladimir region), the core of the city since the 10th century, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the white stone monuments of Vladimir-Suzdal Russia. The architectural ensemble was formed from the 10th to the 18th centuries. and includes monuments of ancient Russian architecture: Nativity Cathedral (XII–XVI centuries) with gilded domes, frescoes and a unique iconostasis of the 17th century; bishops' chambers (XV–XVIII centuries), where an exhibition on the history of Suzdal is located; the bell tower of the cathedral (XVII–XVIII centuries); ramparts and ditches (XII century) are the remains of ancient fortification. Since 1923, the territory has functioned as a museum; now it is a branch of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve. The exhibitions present archaeological finds, church relics, objects of decorative and applied art and documents illustrating the development of Suzdal as the spiritual and administrative center of North-Eastern Rus'.
