The charm of beauty. From the history of jewelry in Russia
This is the first large-scale display of part of the collection of jewelry from the collection of the museum's Special Storeroom. The exhibition covers the period of the second half of the 17th - early 20th centuries and demonstrates the variety of forms, materials, ornamental solutions and artistic techniques. The exhibition reveals the history of jewelry in Russia, its role in costume and reflection of fashion trends. The basis was the collections of the main pre-revolutionary collectors: the Shchukins, Bakhrushins, Brokars, Morozovs. Among the exhibits are 700 pieces of jewelry, including earrings, rings, brooches, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, tiaras and combs.
