Kizhi (museum-reserve)
The Kizhi Museum-Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. This is a unique historical, cultural and natural complex, which is a particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. The basis of the museum collection is the Kizhi Pogost ensemble, which is included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The museum includes more than 80 monuments of wooden architecture: churches, chapels, peasant houses, outbuildings, mills. The collection also includes thousands of household items, icons, ancient instruments and much more.
