Tver Regional Art Gallery
The Art Museum in Tver is one of the oldest in Russia. It was founded in 1866 as part of the Tver Museum, and in 1937 it received the status of an independent institution. It is located in the Tver Imperial Palace, an 18th-century building built for Empress Catherine II according to the design of Pyotr Nikitin. The art collection of the gallery includes about 40,000 exhibits.
